Gospel Knights

The following short stories are all intertwined with each another. Each has heroes and heroines that give their lives for truth. They are knights leading others away from evil.
“A Normal Spy Family” tells the adventure of a “normal” family in Florida experiencing the supernatural. They are in search of a hidden scroll from the Qumran caves of the Dead Sea. It appears that a hidden parchment has been discovered and evil abounds.“Quitone” is the novel that tells the full information in its original setting from the hidden parchment mentioned in “A Normal Spy Family.” Light and darkness are in a constant battle as we see a pre-earth savior and an evil dark lord named lucid in their origins.“BullyWink Bullfrog and the Swampland Community Critters” These are the children stories that the quiet one (Quitone) begins to write for the young angelics and the children of future earth. A few of these are recorded in the novel,”Quitone.” These are humorous and light-hearted
A Normal Spy Family
Just a few more Moments “whispered the young fourteen year old blonde-headed boy. “Just one more second ….” He continued to whisper from his perch high above a walkway to Runnington College. Ranger Joey, nick-named by his father, was just about to jump on an unsuspecting professor. He was whispering to his brother, Deputy John, also nicknamed by his father. John or Deputy John was five years younger than Joey but he never let his age get in the way of what a nine year old could really do. Thats when it happened. The branch that Deputy John stood on cracked and broke. Just like in the cartoons it appeared to Joey that John remained in midair at least three or four seconds before he came crashing down. “YEOWWWWW!!!”  John fell into a bed of palmettos, which actually broke his fall. This obviously startled the professor who ran over to check on John not knowing that John was actually trying with his brother to jump on him and take his briefcase that held parchment #5 from the Qumran caves. I’ll explain that later though. Actually, I probably need to explain a lot before we continue the story so that you the reader won’t be caught off guard like the professor from Runnington College. Well actually he wasn’t caught off guard since John accidentally fell into the palmettos but you then probably want to know why John and Joey’s father gave them nicknames like that. You see, their Father believes that he was the original Zorro even though the boys have never seen him in a sword fight. Actually he was pretty good at slicing up homemade pizza that his wife, their mother, made from real wheat. It was so good and so home made, ground from kernels of wheat. Nobody does it like that anymore. Well, I’m not sure if they ever did that but that really does not add or subtract from this story. You will definitely want to know the full history of this family. I mean there are other children; Emily Annie Oakley, Calamity Mandy, Buffalo Gail Amy, and Wild Dave “the Rave” Hitchcock. All of these were very much involved with finding the missing or to be truthful, the stolen parchment from Qumran. It is believed that, that parchment held a pre-creation story to Adam and Eve. Many would call the scroll an art of fiction but all of the other parchments were facts and copies of ancient scriptures and ways of life in those early monastic desert communities. However, I guess you want to know what happened to John. Ranger Joey who is always fast in his thinking quickly climbed down the tree and said “John, did you get the sample?” “Huh?” questioned John as the professor and Joey helped him to his feet. “Did I get what?” “The sample, John.” “Oh,” John said, coming back to his senses. He eyed the briefcase held tightly under the professor's arms, “No, I didn’t get it. The branch broke.” The professor realizing that John was not hurt, at least not in an emergency room type of way, turned and walked away murmuring to himself, “kids these days.” “Sorry Bro,” said John. “It’s alright,” replied Joey. “At least we know he’s got the parchment or something else very important under those tightly held arms.” The boys watched the gentleman head into the college library. “Come on,” whispered Joey. “We have got to follow him.” The Ranger and Deputy followed in pursuit of their querry but carefully stayed far enough behind so as not to be so close that the professor would see them. John had a slight limp but nothing that wouldn’t heal itself as he tried to walk it off. I guess the boys will be all right for a few minutes to leave them so I can explain to you what this story is all about.

QUITONE

Who is this one of quietness? His face could be of twenty or one hundred twenty. He feels your thoughts and knows your heart. His decisions are made not alone but with the symphony of three. The Other One is close and the Father always near. He desires to love and ever intercedes. He would risk all for even one, none should perish. He is a soldier of color with brightness as a shield. He alone is the hope of man. He learns of the Father through obedience and grace. His teacher is earth and the evil of its place. Can he be the one that will save us from ourselves? All heaven awaits the climax of his debut while all hell groans for his defeat before the war even begins. The young lad known as Quitone was born not made as the other angelics were formed in creation. No one knows of his actual birth. This is a mystery but accepted as fact in the archives of Heaven's Aglow. As a child Quitone studied directly under the great archangel, "Lucid." The youngsters ability with the sword as defence was constantly weilded by the angel's ongoing attacks. Quitone never knew when his guardian would turn from teacher of law to aggresion of weapons. He remained constantly on the alert for Lucid who did not mind in the least to throw a hard jab at a moment's notice. Even though these moments strenthened our young ones immediate response, they also created a deep mistrust of Lucid's actual intentions. The year of 6040 brought joy to the Heavenlies.

A profound creation that began as a hem of the garment, something so spectacular that the great Arbor and Sath stopped their hardening.Even the twilight froze in mid-air as rainbows of garnet and gold decended from Glory. He was more beautiful than the Sun, more radiant than Orion on a clear winter's eve. Lucid was his given name but others called him greater or One like the Unknown. He seemed to have knowledge that others only dream of.  While most bowed humbly,he danced across the Big Dog to Orion and faded into Taurus. Pleiades seemed to back away and the Little Dipper submitted its quest. The light into his eyes seemed to go on for eternity. Praises reached Heaven's Aglow for the Father had given a creature the taste of godliness. What would be his purpose? Where would he go or what would he do?

Was their a plan for his abiding in ectasy or was this a figment of heaven's imagination?                             " LUCID "

"Lucid, I call you. Come down from above. Bow beneath your Creator and bid me your alliegence.

"I called you forth as a guiding light for others, an example and to some a rebuke.

Prove to the reign of the Household of Den that a creature so great would not fall to the tempt

nor allow greed or pride to consume a splendid dream."

But the moment  the thought to not obey the voice became a sensation

that only those too close to be seen were weary to approach...did he smile a grin that became

his trademark. The brightness of light that flowed to his core that seemed to go on for eternity

was now somehow stopped! He came as he was bid but a brief shadow appeared. No one knew

of a shadow till that very moment and shadows now exist with every auora.

They simply are the response to a question, a desire to be kindled, a No to the Father.

Nothing was ever the same.

MANINMOON

Chapter One

The moon, preparing always for fullness, was wasted in darkness the night Manin was thrown from the temples parapet.  He was to be assassinated for his willful disobedience to the throne. By sheer luck or guidance, Manin grabbed the ledge two floors down as he fell the 100 feet. He grasped the wall with his fingertips. He was amazed at the strength in the tips of his six fingers. His first response was to climb back to the window but the shutters had been slammed shut and locked. The young cloaked boy knew at this hour that all windows would be locked and sealed. No one took the risk of being seen at night by the humans. Manin’s only escape would be the ground. He whispered a prayer and pushed out with his body. Once again to his surprise he grabbed the ledge with his fingertips. His descent had been about ten feet. Only once did he have any trouble with his downward journey and that was the fierce wind swirling his cloak over his eyes in one of his drops. But just like before he had no trouble grasping the next ledge. It wasn't till later that our young man realized the significance of not depending on his sight. In a few minutes he landed on his feet and faced the blackness of his immediate future. He could not flee to the city of the humans and he was no longer welcome in the Moon's Temple. He would head to the forest, the Risk Forest. The name of his overnight abode speaks volumes in itself. Little did he know that the Forest would raise him to eventually be the archangel of Heaven's Aglow.

Manin looked at his fingers on his left hand as he wiped the sleep out of his eyes with his other hand. Had everything the night before been real or was some of it some horrible nightmare? There was no doubt part was real for Manin had spent a night's sleep in the forest. A forest that as a child he had been advised to never enter, but here he was ...exiled from the Temple. Manin sat up from his nest bed of oak leaves and moss and shuckles. The shuckles or striplings of the Cane Tree had made his last night's slumber at least somewhat comfortable. He pulled himself upright and leaned back against a bundle of linking Cane trunks. This time Manin looked deeply at both of his hands. He remembered grasping the different ledges after his being thrown down from the Temple. His assassins had intended to end his life but something had intervened...his fingers. Manin turned his fingers over and over. They looked normal enough but it should be impossible to do what he had done. Had the God of all Heavens been merciful and just miraculously saved him or had the God of all Heavens given him a gift that had saved him? Manin remembered that the Prophet had said once that there would be, would be.... what did he say..."There would be strength in the tips of the hands that were destined to rule with a fist."

"Cawwwwww!!!" cried out a large black-silk crow from high above Manin's head. The sound brought him out of his thought. He stood as best he could still crouching down under the Cane and Oak canopy. This had been a perfect place to rest and hide for the night. How did he find this place in the darkness? All these questions would have to be answered later for Manin's stomach began to growl sounding a lot like the crow. He must find food he thought to himself and water or none of these questions in his head would even be worth asking. He must eat.

As Manin moved through the forest He heard voices yelling in the distance. He began to trot in the direction of the sound but not in too hurried of a pace for he wasn't sure if what he might find would be friend or foe. Manin heard horses snorting and trampling in some sort of way just beyond his sight. He slowed to almost a crawl and then peered between some bushes. Three men appeared to be struggling with each other between the horses. It appeared to be two against one. They then stopped their tussling when one of the men shouted, “Look! The knights are charging!" Manin looked in the direction the other three were viewing. There was a clearing in the not so far distance and two knights clad in Armour were charging toward each other. Instead of a spear or sword, javelin or anything the two men seemed to simply plan on crashing into each other. In moments a loud bang sounded and both knights fell to the ground. One started to rise but fell back to the rocky surface. All three men charged to the collision. The two men that were fighting the other ran to one knight as the other reached the one who had tried to rise and then fell again.

"We are going to hang him for what he did!" shouted one of the two men. The other by his side also said, ”and not just for this but also for killing the slave." The other man returned their comments as he held what appeared to be the other fallen knight. He held him in his lap. "He is not dead like your knight and you will not kill him by hanging. He only shot the slave as a hunt. He knows no better. From where he comes from a slave is no more than a deer fleeing in a hunt."

"That's no excuse for what he has done. I'm taking him now. Jossan, get the rope!" said one of the two as he started to rise. The lone fighter stood up as well and pulled a pistol out of a hidden holster. He said, “You are not going to hang him. I will take him and teach him our ways. He does not know. He will not be excused but he does not deserve death."

With that statement the last of the two men who wasn't standing yet stood up and started toward the lone man saying, “You’re not going to kill me. I know you are the messenger. You will not kill..." But before he took another step the pistol fired and the man dropped grasping his right leg.

"I told you that he would not be hanged!"

Manin remained motionless behind the bushes as he continued to watch this scene unfold. His supernatural ability to hear over incredible distances made it possible for him to remain right where he was without anyone knowing he was ever there but, could he remain still? Who was innocent? It appeared that neither side was absolutely innocent. Manin was not in favor of slavery for his own experience proved that well but could one be held accountable for murder even in ignorance. Before Manin had made up his mind to intervene he witnessed something that truly changed his understanding of reason and life itself. The Messenger said, “Someone must be punished, someone must pay the price for the death of the slave. There is no doubt my friend is guilty but I say again he will not hang. Hang me instead."

"You are a fool!" said the man still holding the wound that was bleeding profusely from his leg.

The Lone fighter walked slowly and carefully over to him and knelt down beside him. Manin could not see what he was doing but he could hear the wounded man's voice.

"Why are you touching me...why? It's gone! It's gone! The wound Roslet, the wound, it is healed!"

Quickly, the other man ran over to his fallen comrade and helped him to stand.

Roslet slowly raised his head after looking over Jossan's wound. "You are the Messenger." The one addressed as the Messenger said,

"It is as you say, now let us finish the sentence. Hang me."

Manin saw total astonishment and surprise in the face of the two men and then as if a shadow was cast upon them both, as if the wind even changed direction in its course, Jossan said, “And why not, you deserve death just as your friend does. Roslet, I still have the rope. Let us finish our task."

Manin saw a total change upon the countenance of the two men. It was as if they had been possessed. He had seen that happen a number of times in the Moon's temple. The Messenger did not appear to resist them. He looked like a lamb being led to the slaughter. Before Manin could move a muscle the noose was around the Messenger's neck. The man called Roslet took the long rope connected to the noose and tossed it up over a low hanging limb in a nearby oak's branches. It appeared the Messenger had his eyes closed and then all of a sudden before they yanked him into the air the victim opened his eyes and stared at Roslet. It was like Manin knew what he was going to say before he said it. The Messenger as if he was reminding the henchman that his life would be the full price for his friend's sin said, “If you touch him when I'm gone, you will burn in the eternal lake of fire!" Jossam grabbed the rope then from Roslet's grasp and yanked the Messenger into the air. His body weight was more than Roslet could hold and the noose began to sag and eventually dropped the Messenger on the ground. Manin was finally able to move his feet and start running in their direction. He still seemed to be in slow motion. He started yelling,"Wait! Stop!" But if anything, his screams only awakened Jossam's stupor and both men grabbed the rope together and yanked the Messenger into eternity. His spirit leaving his flesh, the messenger opened his eyes to be in an alley, a very noisy alley. He found himself upon the steps of an old church. The great door opened and there was the slave standing in the threshold. The Messenger heard thunderous music from inside like he had never heard before. The slave, dressed in the finest of attire was not a slave anymore.

"Come in my friend." he said and took the Messenger by the hand. "We have been waiting just for you."

Manin caught up  with the two men within moments but the Messenger was gone. He started to attack for the injustice he had seen but something held him back. It was as if he knew that no matter what evil had been involved here that all things would work together for good. The knight who had won his battle began to stir. Manin knew his next step. Make sure this young knight lived to fight another day. He knelt down by the wounded knight and looked toward Jossam and Roslet. "There has been enough killing today. You two need to leave untill the day of reckoning." Manin wondered what in the world he had just said and mean't but it worked. The two men slowly backed away and the knight awakened.

"I thirst." said the knight.

"Hold on my friend," Manin replied,"Your day has just begun. Living water has made you alive. You were as good as dead but now...you shall live."

The beginning poem for BullyWink Bullfrog

"THE SAGA OF BULLYWINK-BULLFROG AND THE SWAMPLAND CRITTERS"

Long, long, long time ago, in a faraway place on the Withlacoochie River,

A tadpole named Taddy had an experience that would make you shiver,

He disobeyed mommy and went out to the deep,

To see what life was all about, then he went to sleep.

When he awoke night had given way,

Darkness all around, his resting lily pad began to sway.

A giant monster, Red Eye his name,

Tried to destroy little Taddy, eat him as game.

But a savior named J.C. Bullfrog leaped in his jaws,

Giving Taddy a chance to return to his ma.

He saved me dear Ma, gave his life just for me,

So Taddy grew up a changed Bullfrog you see.

A famous pastor he became formed the Swampland church.

All critters were welcome to come and to search....

For new life, new hope, new beginnings and more,

All found their needs met as they came thru the door.

There was Wally Wabbit from another religion,

Squirrelly Boyly and Girly too, teenagers just trying to find something true.

There was Tony the turtle, older teen that he was,

Wasn’t quite ready to leave his shell just because,

Others were more willing to try to cross the line like

Turk Brawler and Turk Taller, Twin turkeys from the Pines.

They were more daring, got into trouble, almost all the time.

There was young Jr. Gator who married Ms Alli and together Alli-Gator

Worked with the youth.

Real troubled boys like Slimy the Snake and delightful critters like Darlin the Dove

Who could just about break....

Your feelings that young critters would all end up bad, so many had no mom neither a dad.

But, this gang of all critters came together as one

Sometimes clawing and scratching but mostly they won.

What did they win you might ask I dare say?

God's family they became and love him today...

BULLYWINK SAGA 1

The Beginning

Long, long, long time ago in a far away pond at the edge of a swamp lived a tiny little tadpole name Taddy.  Taddy was an adventuress type of tadpole.  He always wanted to try everything just for the excitement of it.  Taddy longed to grow up and be a bullfrog.  He wanted so much to swim up to the top of the pond, see all the beautiful sights he had heard so much about.  But Taddy’s mother always told him he was not quite old enough to go to the top.                                Well, one day Taddy just couldn’t take the suspense any more.  Off he shot toward the surface of the water as quick as he could when his mother’s back was turned.  It seemed like forever to get there but when he did he found it to be just as beautiful and wonderful as everyone said it would be. Taddy swam all over the place admiring the birds as they sweetly sang, he heard the bullfrogs niii…dippin, an he saw great fish jumping right out to the water.  Taddy thought he was in heaven.

After awhile he felt like he should head back down to his home but he was so tired.  Maybe, he thought to himself, if I just rest a few moments on the lily pad allowing the waves to flow over me so I can breathe, then shortly I’ll have the strength to swim home.  Well, you can imagine what happened next.  Taddy was so tired that he slept a lot longer then he wanted to.  As a matter of fact when he woke up the sun had already set and everything was dark.  The world around Taddy didn’t look so warm and beautiful anymore.  Taddy was scared stiff.  He didn’t dare move for he had heard that at night there was a giant that swam around the pond by the named Redeye.

Let me tell you, things didn’t get better, for Taddy saw, at least he thought he saw a big, red eye off to his right, then it disappeared.  If the little tadpole swam off his lily pad the creature might get him!

All of a sudden that big ol’ Red eye popped right out of the water right in front of Taddy but this time it was two big red eyes and below them was a mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth.  Taddy couldn’t move. The creature opened his mouth and began to talk with a very deep voice.

“Little Taddy, why are you so far from home?” Taddy didn’t answer.  “Well, said the Redeye, “ I think I’ll eat you little feller” and with that, the giant alligator opened up his great mouth and started to chomp down on little Taddy.

But you know what happened? Out of the clear blue came this great big bullfrog and he jumped right into that gator’s mouth.  With one hand he held up the upper teeth and with his two feet he kept the bottom teeth from closing in on him.  He looked at the frightened little Taddy and said, “I am King J.C. Bullfrog and I have come to save your life.  “ With that the jaws of Redeye slammed shut knocking Taddy off his lily pad and into the water. He began to swim faster and faster than he had ever swam before until he finally reached home.  He told his mother how sorry he was and that he wouldn’t disobey her anymore.  He also told her how King J.C. had given his life that Taddy might live.  He knew he didn’t deserve it but he was so thankful his life had been saved, and you know what? Taddy’s life was changed after that. He became a Christian and when he grew up he became a famous preacher by the name of Rev. BullyWink Bullfrog.  He started what is known as the Swampland Church and let me tell you, a lot of lives have been touched since then by that one little TaddyPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting.

Temptation

It was early one Sunday morning and Ol’ Rev. Bullywink Bullfrog was just a preaching a-way.  Them gators were slapping their tails, the birds were chirping, the frogs were niiii…. dippin and even a local tomcat from the people folk said a meow or two for his amen.  They were having a good time.  But someone was sleeping up at the top of one of those Pine trees.  It was Squirrelly Girly.  You could hear her a snoring a country mile.  Rev. Bullywink tried to ignore her but when she fell right out of the tree in front of him he had to escort her out of the church.

“ Hey, Squirrelly Boyly, you come too. “ said The Rev. and let me tell you, those two squirrels were afraid.

Rev. Bully Wink said that he knew the reason the two of them were so sleepy.  He had seen Boyly yawning while Girly was a snoring   “You two,” said Bullywink,  “ have been disobedient to your ma and pa haven’t you?”  “ I understand you have been staying up late at night when everyone else is in bed and going out to eat from the Sick-a-more tree.”   “The fruit on that tree looks delicious and tastes wonderful but a little bit later and you get a stomach ache. You know, it was so hard for those two to leave that tree alone even when they knew the results would hurt them.  If they ate the good tasting fruit then they would have to pay the price later.

As I think of those two squirrels I’m reminded of the story in the Bible about Adam and Eve.  They were told by God not to eat of a certain fruit tree.  They disobeyed and that was called sin.  Disobedience is sin.  What you sow or plant you will reap or get back.  That sick-a-more tree, not to be confused with the people –folk sycamore tree, had delicious fruit that was sweet to the taste but awful bitter to the stomach.  Squirrelly Girly and Boyly were told not to eat of that tree but they did anyway, and it caused them to stay up most of the night with a tummy ache.  But you know ol’ Bullywink said, “I still love ya, even if you did disobey.”  He said that’s why God in his wonderful way gave us Jesus and if we really love him he will forgive usPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting.
